The days at the small animal vet clinic are very demanding. Alarm at 03:30 in the morning. A 2-hour bus ride, 8.5 hours of work, and another 2-hour bus ride home. My feet are aching when I get home, so I just want to sit in my chair and relax until it's time for bed — and then repeat it all over again. Sadly, I haven't had the time or energy to update the website with anything new. I'm halfway through the clinical rotations, and in June I'll have a break from everything and will be able to update the site more frequently. This is my mood recently:

Today is a holiday in Sweden. May 1st is International Workers' Day, when the proletariat takes to the streets with signs and chants. This year, the chants were mostly calls for Sweden to leave NATO, demands for a six-hour workday, a free Palestine, and, of course, a call to boycott of the genocidal state of Israel. Yesterday, I finished my last clinical rounds at the horse clinic. Today and tomorrow, I’m off. I’ve spent today planning for next week, when I’ll start clinical rounds at a small animal clinic. To celebrate my day off, the great weather, and our King’s 80th birthday today, I went for a walk outside. The Swedish Air Force put on a show in his honor. I even managed to snap a photo of the planes returning to base from Stockholm.

Today, I received my first postcard on PostCrossing. It was from a kind person from Japan. One of my favorite countries. The card was of their cats. Very personal card and effort was put into it. I really appreciated it. I think I will show of my upcoming collection on the site. Yesterday, I worked the evening shift at the horse clinic, and despite going later to bed, my stupid body woke me up the same early time as always. So today, I've been tired all day, and even too tired to go out in the warm weather and replenish my energy. A catch 22. And being this tired is too tiresome even falling to fall asleep. In the wise words of Kurt Cobain - "I'm so Tired I can't sleep."

There are only two shifts left on my clinical rounds at the horse clinic. After that, I will finally get started on small animals at a different clinic. I wouldn't call the horse clinic a necessary evil, since it's not evil or bad in any way. I just want to learn more about taking care of of pets indoors. I've never really spent time with horses before starting university and it's still hard to read how they are doing. However, I won't miss the 1kg heavy shoes that are mandatory at the horse clinic. Slippers here I come!

I just had my first night shift at the horse clinic. I worked from 10 to 8. Thankfully the tempo was pretty chill with neither stress or dull periods. The thing that got me going was the reward of posting the Night Watch's meme of Jon Snow.
